INCOMPLETE MUSLIM AND MELAYU WORLDS AND THEIR HIGHLY INCOMPETENT LEADERS.

…THIS IS WHAT THE SO-CALLED LEADERS ARE – STUBBORN, NARROW-MINDED AND UNCULTURED WHO ROLL IN THE MEDIA LIMELIGHT AND WHO LIVE IN THEIR OWN WORLD OF FANTASY.
By Mansor Puteh

NO WONDER THE REST OF THE WORLD ESPECIALLY THE WEST DOES NOT KNOW WHO THE MUSLIMS ARE AND WHAT THE MUSLIM COULD DO TO CO-EXIST WITH THEM.

THE MUSLIM WORLD DOES NOT NEED A SALADIN. THOSE WHO HAD ASPIRED TO BE SO, HAD BEEN PUNISHED SEVERELY. SADDAM HUSSEIN FOUND THIS OUT EARLY. GHADAFY ALSO FOUND IT SO. FORTUNATELY FOR HIM HE COULD LEARN QUICKLY FROM SADDAM’S MISTAKE SO HE REPENTED.

THOSE MUSLIM LEADERS WHO CAN ASPIRE TO BE HIM ARE THOSE WHO ARE STUBBORN AND WHO DO NOT KNOW HOW TO BOW OUT OF THE SCENE AND LIVE THE LIFES OF PSEUDO-DICTATORS.

These dictators and dictators wannabe do not want their countries to develop because they see development to be anathema to their very existence since a well-educated and well-informed populace is bad for them. They want to die in office and allow their off-springs to take over from them.

This is also what the pseudo-dictators in many Muslim countries want to do. They want their children and close relatives and cronies or bag-carriers to join them in their charade to provide the country and their people, when their only concern is to provide for their personal well-being. The country and people come later and they can get whatever that’s left from the loot that they could pinch and hide.

So no wonder many Muslim countries and the Muslim World and Melayu World are incomplete with the people sick and confuse.

These people are not smart; they are just idiots. They prolong their tenure of office as dictators after assuming duties by overthrowing an earlier regime.

The Melayu World can never find another Hang Tuah.

But they can create filmmakers and artists who can be the pseudo-Saladin and pseudo-Hang Tuah.

This article is written based on the speech I gave at the forum on Islamic cinema which was held at Aswara on 2 September which was also based on the paper I presented at the first international Muslim filmmakers’ conference in Tehran, Iran in February, 1994.

…while the majority of the Ummah continue to suffer without basic amenities while they live in the lap of luxuries with everything in their possession.

So they think the Muslim and Melayu worlds are okay because they, their children and close friends and other cronies are also okay since this is their real world. The others are those whom they occasionally meet to get media attention.

no wonder till now, in the 1431 Hijriah, the Muslims and Melayu do not know how to provide for themselves so they have no choice but to buy things from the others who are able to develop their worlds and economies, and force the Muslim and Melayu worlds to be nothing but parasites of those developed countries.

And without an Islamic and Melayu cinemas, the Muslim and Melayu worlds do not exist as separate entities with their own peculiarities and uniqueness.

Having tall structures and large airports and stadiums and highways, do not ensure that the worlds are developed with the ummah who can hardly feed themselves.

All the economic development that has taken place in the Muslim and Melayu worlds are only to support the expansion of the economy of the west and their dependents.

They do not happen as constructive effort to create unity of the Ummah and the Melayu. So no wonder, whatever happens in each of the countries in these two worlds is not support by those other countries in them, so that we could depend on the support of the wide consumer base which is needed to create markets for them.

The Muslim and mealy leaders in Malaysia and elsewhere think too highly of themselves. And the western-trained economists too are not good for the worlds.

And they think they are ultra-nationalists and religious and god-fearing. They think they are god-send. They are not.

They think they were created by the Almighty. Alas, they were all created by their own political parties and the system that holds them together.

They think too highly of themselves getting all the adulation and authority from having won in the elections as party officials which gave them the arrogance of office to do as they please.

So they come up with slogans which are empty and devoid of any sense; they are not practical calls to unity and development for they are just empty calls for continued support for their depravity.

They are not leaders. They are just publicity seekers.

There is nothing wrong in saying this. This is not even a criticism, but alas it is just a general description.

They cannot blame anyone for uttering such words and sentiments. They also cannot force anyone to think that they are god-send.

The truth is in the ‘pudding’ and the ‘pudding’ has become stale that the Muslim and Melayu Worlds of Nusantara in Southeast Asia are both in the state of despair and destruction.

All of this is due to their incompetence.

They are in a perennial state of denial. They deny that they are not leaders. They think they are good for the Ummah but alas they are not even good for themselves.

But they can attract the attention of the media which cannot avoid covering their daily activities.

If this is not enough, they also have no choice but to cover the activities of their spouses, who hover around them, not because they know how to do things, but how to distract the members of the public.

An equally incompetent media creates more pseudo-characters and pseudo-events, to fill the pages of the papers and air-time.

All this is happening while the Muslim and Melayu Worlds are in such a sad state.

They occasionally meet. They shake hands. Now they have to hug each other tightly to show to the world that they are brothers.

They then give lengthy speeches, which are full of nothing. Their speech writers do not know the crowd; they are too happy with their posts and positions and the rooms they have that block their views from the world around them.

So they do not realize how it has crumbled while they enjoy at the sight of the crowd of media representatives and attentive audiences that often crowd those dignitaries who are living in the world of their own.

The Muslim and Melayu Worlds are indeed incomplete. This is due to the incompetence of their leaders.

What can the ordinary folks in these world do besides; they can review, analyze and propose, but if their elected leaders who think they deserve to be retained in the special positions for live, by virtue of the fact that they had been elected to high office once?

The elected leaders live in the world of their own and they look at it in a blinkered view, so they do not see much.
