CRIMINALS TAKE ADVANTAGE OF POOR POLICING, POLITICKING AND SOCIAL AND CULTURAL DISORDER CREATED BY POOR URBAN PLANNING.
…NEW RECRUITS TO CRIMINAL ACTIVITIES ARE FOUND ON A DAILY BASIS, AND THEY COME FROM PEOPLE WITH CERTAIN EDUCATIONAL, SOCIAL AND CULTURAL BACKGROUNDS.

YET MOST OF THE CRIMES INVOLVE THOSE WHO DROPPED OUT EARLY FROM THE VERNACULAR MANDARIN AND TAMIL SCHOOLS WHICH HAVE FAILED THEIR COMMUNITIES.
REPETITIVE CRIMES ARE THOSE WHICH ARE ALLOWED TO BE SO REPEATED. SADLY, MOST OF THEM ARE PETTY AS WELL AS THE MORE ORGANIZED CRIMES WHICH DEAL IN THE MILLIONS OF RINGGIT.
AND THEY CAN OPERATE SO OPENLY AND SO BLATANTLY, RIGHT UNDER THE VERY EYES OF THOSE WHO ARE PAID TO SEE THEY FAIL.
This is where our law enforcement officers, the police, politicians, educationists and other well-meaning leaders fail, to arrest crime in the country, especially those which are done so openly and so blatantly, and almost right under their very eyes.
Now they have to be further belittled when some television stations find it expedient to bully and to teach them some lessons on where and how to find some of the criminals and where their criminal activities are taking place.
Does this mean that these television stations are doing a better job at crime exposing and prevention than the official authorities concerned? Yes, they are.
The television stations are also so daring that they are now asking their viewers to report to them if they see any criminal activity instead of them reporting to the authorities, meaning the police and DBKL or other relevant agencies which are now fast becoming totally irrelevant to the matter.
If there’s anything that one can discern from the ‘crime programs’ on television, it is their not saying that they are now the more effective authority in crime prevention in the country and or the others.
The police have been involved in trying to arrest the criminals; the papers have written on them countless number of times.
And the politicians and other community and religious elders are aware of the types of crimes that have been created and continued to be repeated.
But, alas, they do not know the patterns involved and how to change them. They only know how to loathe crimes that are created in the same manner using the same pattern.
And never mind those who claim to be experts in crime-prevention; they only know how to pick little details and get attention to themselves for spouting nonsensical and idiotic diatribes.
The criminals get new recruits everyday. They do the same trick everyday – including pulling out ATMs out of the walls in the banks. Some succeed, some fail.
Yet, this pattern of criminal behavior will be repeated. And the same police we have will send their men to investigate while the media cover the mess.
And where are the politicians? Why are they not debating on this issue?
Do the so-called crime-prevention experts know what are the elements involved in such crimes that cause these crimes to be allowed to happen?
No, they don’t. Otherwise, they would have said so.
Yes, there is a pattern which allows certain types of crimes to be created on a daily basis. These are reported on a daily basis by the media, too.
And the police will investigate using the same method. But all of them will not be able to find out what are the pattern and the elements the criminals have to take advantage of the setup, and continue on with their trade of stealing things and robbing jewelry stores.
