HAS THE MARCH TO THE LEFT IN MALAYSIA BECOME AN UGLY SIGHT WITH THE LEFTISTS NOW FINDING THEMSELVES HAVING TWO LEFT FOOTS WITH ONE IN THEIR MOUTH?

…THEY HAVE THEMSELVES TO BLAME FOR THEIR OWN DEBACLE. PULAU PINANG BECAME PENANG AND THE MELAYU PUSHED BACK…

THE ANSWER IS: IT HAS.

THERE ARE NOW MANY MALAYSIANS OF ALL RACES, WHO NOW SEEM TO HAVE TWO LEFT FOOTS THESE DAYS.

FEW OF THEM, I’M AFRAID HAD STEPPED THEIR OWN TWO LEFT FOOTS SO THEY ARE NOW MIS-STEPPING ALL THE TIME. SO NOTHING CAN BE RIGHT WITH THEM NOW, YET, THEY STILL INSIST ON BEING SELF-RIGHTEOUS.

But unfortunately, as it has turned out and become very evident, only those who write in Melayu and English are blogging.

There are so few Malaysian bloggers in Tamil or mandarin, never mind Cantonese or Hokkien. The Indian and Chinese dialects have been reduced to become social communication tools. They are not for blogging.

This goes to show how far the vernacular education can take someone in the country. Not very far.

Because in the free world and in the total freedom that they have, they still cannot count on expressing themselves in Tamil or Mandarin.

And as it has also turned out, most of those who go to the blog sites are Melayu, so no wonder blogs and other websites in Melayu get more hits than the English ones.

And they are mostly those who are stuck with local and petty social, cultural, historical and political issues and other controversies, while bloggers who deal with more universal issues do not attract their attention.

But what do they post on the essays that are posted will make you squirm. First, many choose to hide behind pseudonyms and they reflect their poor command of Melayu and English and low common sense. Anger is what they spew.

The bloggers are mostly the self-righteous leftists who have been left without a real cause are now finding themselves having two left foots to march nowhere.

But this doesn’t mean that those who are on the right – the rightists are also normal. No! Many of them now seem to have two right foots.

Yet there is another group of people who have a foot in their mouth.

Sooner or later, the left has to go and the right too can’t stay right forever.

Because the right side and left side of their brain do not seem to be functioning correctly because they have been left to rot.

Only the smart and brilliant must be allowed to take center stage, for the good of the nation and everybody.

The Leftists in Malaysia seem to have over-stepped many; but mostly they have over-stepped their role as Leftists, by giving it a bad name.

Once when being on the Left was trendy, now it is not. And once when being on the Right is fancy, now it is not.

This leaves those who are in the middle – the so-called Fence-Sitters to feel especially relieved at how they have benefited from the two sides, the Left and Rights to know how superior they have been.

Because they can now see who are on both sides. They are many silly ones on either side who have been making a fool of the others all this while, yet they don’t seem to realize this and still want everybody to think that being on the Left is chick. It is not.

Being on the right, too, isn’t. Now being in the middle is.

Many of them have unfortunately found themselves with two Left Foots. They don’t have a right foot. And it is not a medical problem, but a psychological one.

How could a person have two left foots? How can they be right on anything? They will soon be left from their march to the left after a while doing it, so they are now back to where they had started from, after walking left around a circle.

Meanwhile, the Rights in Malaysia have also not made many right moves. Theirs is not a march to anywhere. But they think it is somewhere – somewhere, nowhere. That’s good enough for them, since they can pretend to be going somewhere, yet nowhere.

Many of them are has-beens. They have been in politics for too long, and marching on the right side of the track so much so that they seem to think they are always right, all the time.

For a while they were right. But after so long, they cannot be right anymore.

They have rightly become clowns – political clowns. They do their acts in front of a horde of journalists who ask them trite questions, and who get trite answers that their newspaper editors seem to be happy to reprint like the statements and comments they make are intelligent ones that no one had heard of before.

How right they think they are.

But some of the newspapers are also marching up the wrong street. They try to pretend to be on the Right, but in fact, they are also with the Leftists, who have also marched too long, so much so we can see how tired they are. They are mostly those in the vernacular papers and English language, who seem to have an undeclared relationship with the Left.

It’s this, or it’s because they think it is the role of the newspapers to take their readers to the left, as it can make them look progressive. Staying on the right will mean they are poodles. But can’t they also be poodles for the left, too?

This is what’s wrong with Malaysian journalism that it is being shaped not by better educated people but by mere journalists and their editors.

They should by right be so shaped by the ministry of home affairs or Kementerian dalam negeri (KDN), under whom they are subservient to, who give them the KDN permits allowing them to continue publishing.

But the KDN, too, has been cowed by the journalists who charged them for not practicing freedom of the press, a charge which tantamounts to saying that the press in Malaysia is not free.

It is not free. They are some prices to be paid to get the papers off the press although there are now at least two free papers that are offered to the public in some areas.

But they are so thin, and filled with prejudiced views of the journalists and their editors, who are sadly mostly from the minority communities in the country. So their views often sound quite left-leaning.
